New to fishing the sound and would like some help finding a spot to fish from the shore on north whidbey island and deception pass area.  I will camping in the state park and would like to find some fishing spots.

well, if you go down on the beach at Ft Casey, there is fishing off the shore & a steelhead run. not too sure how to fish it though. Maybe someone will chime if soon that lives up there.

salmon or bottom fish would be fine with me.  Would like help with equipment.

JULY from shore is not a great thing here

Fort Casey has its own set of rules on retension of salmon. Check it carefully. Bush point,Lagoon point are both good spots. Fort casey is real good when its open.
